The Newark Public Library has been located at the corner of Mason  and  High Streets for over 100 years.  While the library serves the Newark Community, it is also an active participant in the Pioneer Library System sharing materials with 42 other libraries across Wayne, Ontario, Livingston and Wyoming Counties.  

As an offshoot of its very successful Children’s Department, the Newark Library is proud of the very popular Teen Spot.   The Teen Spot is filled with books, tapes, magazines with their interests in mind and it is a comfortable, welcoming atmosphere for Newark’s teens.   

 

Wireless Internet access is available in the library to all who travel with laptop computers.  There are also computers available to library cardholders to surf the Internet, do research, use spreadsheets and word-processing.   The online catalog is available from any computer connected to the Internet and offers card-holders access to their own accounts and gives them the freedom to order library materials at home or at work.

The Newark Library’s local history room houses many volumes with historical and genealogical interest.  The library is also able to provide exclusive access to over 100 years of local newspapers on microfilm.

The Hoffman Clock Museum is also located in the library’s building.  The ever changing displays of clocks and watches offer visitors a wide variety of information of timepieces as well as the history of this fine collection.
