The NYS Erie Canal passes through the Village of Newark allowing boaters to travel through a scenic water route that runs from Albany to Buffalo.  Boaters have the opportunity to dock at the T. Spencer Knight Park (between East Avenue and North Main Street Bridges) while enjoying such amenities as electric hookups, showers, laundry facilities, and WiFi.  Newark further incorporates a portion of the Canal Way Trail System that gives ample recreation for hikers, bikers, or individuals that just wish to enjoy wildlife and quiet trails.

Attractions such as restaurants, stores, movie theater, bowling  alley, golf, etc. keep residents and visitors alike entertained and active.  Our public library and museum offer further prospects for lifelong learning while the parks and community center give a place for activities and relaxation. Every year Village residents and visitors can also enjoy the Annual Rose Parade and NewarkFest which features music, craft and food booths, family events, and much more.
